Not just MCPS. It was the same when I was a teen. Usually former students. |
Ugh. However, this does suggest that part of how to combat misinformation like this would be to have improved security monitoring in centralized locations (like cameras and gunshot detectors). Active shooter called in? Nope - nothing on our sensors. Bomb threat called in? Nope, no unauthorized persons on premises last night. Sure, you send police to follow up at the school, but don’t into full reaction mode instantly. |
I don't disbelieve PP, but this is really interesting because you cannot send emails to MCPS students from outside the domain, and because MCPS emails are just numbers. So, someone would need to know how MCPS emails work to even get this into the hands of students. |
From what I heard, the email had been sent to various teachers and one of them had displayed in on one of their boards. The image my daughter showed me was a photo of the email on a board. |
This is the pic my daughter had. Someone had commented on it then sent it around. |
That's why MCPS isn't in the law and order business and this falls to MCPD and DA to figure out. |
God I hope so |
This is what I heard as well, with the comment that it wasn’t intentionally shown. It was open when the screen started projecting, or something like that. |
So what address was the email from?! |
I can try to post it but I’m sure it’ll get deleted: niggawallet@skiff.com |
Is post the screenshot if I could but I have no idea how to do that |
| Was the Rockville one from the same email? |
Any chance both of these bomb threats could be related to the WJ incident yesterday? Timing seems strange. |
| Seems like so many problems in MCPS lately. |
Seems like so many problems in the US lately. |
