I too use a fresh white facecloth every day. I squirt Cetaphil in my hand, sprinkle my Dermalogica microfoliant on top and spread this on my face, then wet the facecloth to wipe it off. There is no water splashing anywhere. |
Ditto. |
Same here. |
| I know exactly what you are talking about. In literally take my shirt off to wash my face. I do it naked. And I layer two headband. |
Dishwashing gloves, ok granny! |
| OP I feel you. My mother has said I was a duck since I lived at home with her. I just wear a showercap when I was my face in the sink. And short sleeves ( or I take my top off, briefly). I also get soaked doing handwash dishes even when I wear gloves. |
| I keep a washcloth on the countertop to wipe up the excesss water all around when I’m done. That, plus the wristbands, all help. |
Lol, are we married to the same man? He can't do anything in the bathroom without getting the entire counter wet. Same with the kitchen. He also has this weird block about using a towel or sponge to dry up the excess water or wipe it into the sink-- he'll wipe it in with his hands which doesn't work at all, and then wipe his hands on his pants. There's a towel right there. I do not get it. He doesn't get why it annoys me that I can't set anything down on the counter or lean against it without getting everything all wet. |

Ok how do people emulsify the cleansing oil without using lots of water?
I am also a very slow rinser, but I am tired of wiping up the drops on the floor that drip off of my elbows. |
Enjoy your old lady hands. |
| I don’t like it because of sensory issues. Our sink water takes a very long time to get warm and I can’t stand a wet cold washcloth on my face. Also don’t like getting my clothes wet at all, so I also take off my top and bra. I used to use disposable wipes but can’t feel good about those anymore because they are not environmentally friendly. |
| I can’t believe I’m not alone with this complaint! I have the same issue. I’ve been washing in kitchen sink lately so there is more room for splashes !! I thought this was just me and it never seemed an issue before. … |

QUACK! I’m with you OP. I love a big, foamy face wash but I get water EVERYWHERE no matter how careful I try to be. I use micellar water and these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07YYW87Y7?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
They come in black if you wear lots of makeup. Now if anyone has any advice on how not to get water all over my kitchen when I wash the dishes…. |

I always thought that this was because I'm pretty short. With modern sinks/counters being so much taller, my arms are angled downward when I wash my face and that channels water down to my elbows or dripping off of my chin onto my shirt. I basically end up shirtless or in the shower to wash my face.
Now that I'm really thinking about this, maybe I need a step stool just to wash my face... |
| Me too and I am resigned to both wash my face and brush my teeth in the shower. I can’t handle cleaning the sink after and having soap and toothpaste all over me. |
