Vienna - if the outside is this bad, what do you think is going on inside?

The new photos look 1,000% better. The interior is great, better than most builder spec homes. It's just an ugly exterior, off center front door, and bad driveway that are the problems. Also the power lines definitely should have been buried for new construction. The bedroom accent wall looks great but I worry that will look dated in a few years. Those Monte Carlo Maverick fans are my favorite.

I do sort of wonder why Vienna has gotten so popular in recent years. Proximity to jobs in Tysons, but some of the housing stock is meh.

It's a better commute than most of Mclean (more convenient metro and better access to 66) with more retail/commercial nearby. Like any place, there are both nice houses and less nice houses.

Can you walk to the metro from there? If not then it gives you no advantage over any nearby area where you have to drive/park to take a bus to the metro. And commute is relative to where you have to go. Not everyone has to commute to Tysons. 66 is a heavily used route, not that great for commute or even a weekend trip to DC.

You can drive to and park at the Vienna Metro, but that's not really an option for the Mclean metro stations. Better access to 66 means the drive time from Vienna to DC is only slightly greater than most of Mclean, despite much greater as-the-crow-flies distances.

Good access to 66 is still access to 66, so no thanks when it comes to Vienna. And this house is still cheap construction and ugly AF despite some slightly better interior pictures.

What am I missing? This looks like a pretty standard new build.

Sounds like you’re missing a brain, or at least a pair of functioning eyes.
