Nope.

Of course there is at IAD. My DH took the Washington Flyer taxi just yesterday.

Why doesn’t DCA have Washington Flyer, they tend to be better run and cleaner.

Someone was probably smart enough to not let that happen.

Haven't really noticed a significant difference in prices between Uber and taxi. We took Uber to Dulles (20 minutes away), and took Washington Flyer back. The taxi was a couple of bucks cheaper, but that might be explained by time of day, or day or week, or something.

Yes because of surge pricing. Especially late at night.

I always always always take a taxi instead of an Uber from DCA. It's cheaper than an Uber and often a minimal wait.

I'll take an Uber from Dulles because the Washington Flyer cabs are $$$.

Taxis are only cheaper if you make sure they drop you off on the last corner inside the zone. Make sure it’s the correct side of the street, too. Once you cross into another zone, the fare goes up even if it’s just a block into that zone.

The zone system ended in 2008 my friend.

+1 all day on this

There are two places in DC from which it's better to taxi: National and my office downtown, which has a 13th St entrance that weirdly always has available cabs coming by within 2 minutes.

Both have ample supply of taxis.

At IAD, pedantic people can telephone any VA licensed independent cab to come pick them up. That is entirely allowed. Of course, one then has to either wait for that taxi to arrive or book the taxi in advance.

Only person I know who does this is blind. He books in advance with a specific driver - because he needs extra help beyond what most taxis will provide.

Ubers from IAD are not cheaper these days

I know it’s not an option for everyone but I hate the Uber on arrivals experience at both airports so much that I usually just metro home even on business trips where I could expense the insanely overpriced Uber.
