Can someone explain to me why Ryan r and Blake l want to keep the gender of their 4th baby a secret?

I feel like associating your name with alcohol has been a Celebrity Thing for maybe a decade now. Blake, Cameron Diaz, Kendell Jenner, Clooney, Timberlake, Jay-Z, etc.

These two public figures are not private about their lives at all. Have you been to their Instagram recently? They are incredibly active posting updates and stories, and they seek out press all the time. Which is fine that’s their job. And totally agree that we’re not entitled to everything just be they are public figures.

But if you are going to monetize having children like Ryan did with his whole Bedtime Stories thing, with the whole “vasectomy” campaign around his gin, with telling stories about the kids when being interviewed about all of the kids movies he does , etc., It just seems weird that you don’t release basic, basic information. We’re not asking to have cameras put inside their homes, people are just curious about the gender of the baby, which doesn’t seem insane given how public they are.

Claire Danes recently had a 3rd baby and you don’t see Reddit threads on the name or gender or interest in that because she and her husband are notoriously private so people don’t really expect that kind of information from them. Blake and Ryan trot out stuff all the time and want us all to feel like we are their besties and then in the next breath have their PR team release info on private they are. It’s tiresome.

I like them in general but yes, it’s kind of nonsensical for them not to release the gender of their baby. It feels arbitrary and part of their “our private life is private” schtick. It seems like they want to hold the public’s interest in their lives, ironically. And no, I don’t feel at all entitled to the info.

She's probably lying. It's become super trendy to be a teetotaler. Like you're more virtuous and have more self control than everyone else. Otherwise, why would that even be known publicly? Because she was bragging about it.

They’re keeping it a secret because yet again it’s another girl and they’re embarrassed. Or it’s a boy and they don’t want to deal with the excitement that by default means the first three girls weren’t so exciting.

Yes but they could lean into the all girl thing! Normally, i hear celebrities have a baby, name them something weird and I think poor kid and move on.

I predict an exclusive with people magazine in the coming months. Ryan on the cover and the headline “life with four girls!”

Then a lot of insider quotes from “people close to them” that go on talking about how great their life is. They had a people exclusive last year and one of the quotes with something like, and “a close friend of the couple revealed, ‘all of Blakes friends are envious. They want what she has.’

It was so absurd and laughable. Even for people magazine, where the bar for absurd and laughable is very, very low.
