All A's in MS - what gift?

Wrong. My DD took 2 Honors level Math classes and 2 Honors level FL classes (these at the same time) during MS and she was straight A grades all three years. And even she knew that was "normal"

Emphasis on the”she”, and hope your smugness abates enough for you to be a more thoughtful parent and person down the line.

Yeah, well my kid took 3 high school level foreign language classes, magnet geometry, magnet algebra and magnet algebra 2, magnet computer science all three years and although many of his classmates got many As getting almost 100 percent for every class wasn’t even slightly “normal”. Not was it “easy” - it was hard work and requires considerable organization, which is uncommon in kids that age, even really smart ones. There are not many kids who get all As under these circumstances. It was very uncommon.

We did this too!

I give DS chocolates; he loves chocolates and thats what I get end of year- he gets chocs all year too of course- but end of year I get his fav ones and a box of brownies all together in a bag and that makes his day.
He just finished 9th grade with straight As and my husband got him a watch but thats because his old one doesn't work anymore.
Any little reward makes them happy and they work hard , why not give a treat?

What is remotely smug about what I said? All I said was that EVERYONE gets A grades in Pyle. How is that even remotely smug? It would be smug if I said only my kid got them. You are clearly missing a few slates off your roof.

I guess standards are very low at Pyle then.

There's a lot of pressure. I guess you don't know Bethesda.

Not everyone gets straight As at Pyle. You'd be surprised.

Not surprised at all that was exactly my point. PP has no idea.

When DD gets all As, we go out to dinner at a restaurant of her choice to celebrate.

Agreed! And why does “she” matter to that PP. Boys get straight As, too.

We never rewarded grades, but I think this is a nice idea.

NP who also thought your post was smug and obnoxious. You need better self awareness. Hope you’re not like this IRL.
