The cameo is being referred to as Samantha's "swan song." Meaning a final, permanent break with the women or she dies, right? |
Here is an article about it: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-12152163/Kim-Cattrall-convinced-join-Just-Like-promise-career-boost.html Ok, this makes me think she tells Carrie about her cancer recurrence in a very moving speech, and then they mention her death in Season 3 opener. As much as I'd like that not to be the case, I can't think of any other scenario offering "closure" for her character. I'd definitely prefer she cut them off though. Something along the lines of "Carrie, we're srsly talking about AIDEN right now. Too much. I'm done. My NY life is done. London is my present and my future. We had good moments, but time to let go of the past. Good luck and goodbye." Then SATC: London starring KC and a brilliant new supporting cast! I know it won't be happen, but wouldn't it be grand? |
From the article it sounds like her negotiations entailed HBO/Max coming around about some projects she'd like made. A much better version of Emily in Paris starring Samantha Jones would be amazing! There's been so much success with shows starring women middle-aged and up lately. C'mon, HBO, give us more! But the wording does suggest this is the end for the Samantha Jones character, sadly. She always had a wisdom to her. I would have so enjoyed seeing a more mature version settled elsewhere. Boo. |

Yes, it does sound like this is it. A little disappointed, but don't blame her for not wanting to engage with this lame revival any further. |
It’s horribly sad and tragic. This started as a show about friends having cosmos in talking about sex. People watched it to feel good. |
That is exactly how this show is and why I've never made it past the second episode. I'm proud of her for standing up against the garbage story lines they had for her. The show is so full of horrible writing. |
No she is the show. |
