Would you support standards-based grading for all subjects in all MCPS schools?

Try asking MCPS for a copy of the grading standards so that you can see whether a teacher is grading in a manner consistent with other teachers of the same grade/subject (i.e., confirming that your DC would be getting the same grade from any other teacher, given the work they've done/their answers on tests/etc.). You may get a, "We definitely have standards!" from admin, but you won't get to see anything that would let you answer the question.

There are no enforced standards. Teachers teach a set curriculum but have some leeway with grading. Personally, I give them more freedom and cut central office micromanagement.

Agree, as long as grades aren't used for program selection. Then it becomes an apples-to-oranges thing, with some getting the short end of the stick.
