What is the most elite NYC preschool?

Episcopal School- they have the best exmissions results.

What about preschools not on this list? I thought feeder schools were not a thing anymore. And how do you define feeder for as far as hard stats. How many kids per year get into D, T, HM total, and unconnected?

I feel like if you are unconnected it does help to go to a smaller school where you have less competition and can stand out. Too many siblings and legacies at some of these preschools like Washington Market, West Side Montessori, Episcopal.

TT of the TT: Episcopal and 92 Street Y

Then: Temple Emanu-El, Brick Church, Park Children's Day on the UWS (huge connections at Brearley)

Then: STMPG, All Souls, West Side Montessori, Washington Market, Garden House, Christ Church

(But even the third tier of the TT are very TT).

LOL. Outdated. Exmissions at Episcopal is meh. The TT private schools overwhelmingly take kids from 92NY and WSMS. Everything else is a “then.” Brick Church is in shambles since the director left.

What about All Souls?

Very meh. Last year no Brearley, no HM, no Trinity. Not what it used to be, sadly.

Park Children and WSMS also getting new directors next year. Does this tend to affect exmissions?

Brick’s latest reported class had 6 each Brearley/Collegiate, 5 Dalton, 3 Trinity. That counts as shambles? I only know anecdotal (couple datapoints) from 92NY so hard to compare. Does the whole class get into Trinity or something?

I know people at both 92NY and west side Montessori who were shut out of Brearley and Trinity (they landed at the Hill schools).

Wow, 6 each to brearley and Collegiate? That is fantastic. How many kids are in the graduating class?

Mimi’s leaving WSMS? I hadn’t heard that.

Of course, not everyone from a program is going to get in.

That’s pretty legit. I mean Brick has 188 students total (from 2-5) according to their site but still that’s great.

Yes, we were told that during the admissions process this year.
