I think different kids benefit from different things at different points in their lives. Certainly Latin sends kids to Penn State and other large schools. |
For this, BASIS all the way |
Welp, this thread had a good run. |
| After 4th grade we left our inbound school Janney for Latin and am glad we did. A teacher at Janney encouraged us to look at Latin as an alternative to Deal for our specific child, who she felt was too quiet to advocate for herself at a big school. I'm so glad she did. We ended up sending the rest of our kids there because of sibling preference and I think all my kids looking back would say that Latin was a good school for them (although not perfect) and they made great connections there. Having teachers care about outcomes and the smaller class size are two of the top reasons I'm glad they attended. |

Latin is a great school and my DCs have enjoyed it. However, there have been a few problems this year with the college counseling after the entire CC team left last year in mid-August. We had to pay a lot of money for a private counselor. They hired a new head of CC but mistakes have been made, most likely due to inexperience.
I hope that the CC experience gets better for students in the coming years. The amazing CC team was always a benefit of going to Latin- now, not so much. |
