Is my kid going to get a lot of flak if he wears a mask to play golf in the South?

If people see him wearing a mask, they are...going to assume he has allergies.

It's brutal down here right now. I've seen all kinds of mask resurgence and I've just assumed it's because of allergies. I think what happened is that people saw the value way beyond of wearing masks and have not issues throwing one on when the situation calls for it. This is such a situation.

Who do you think is going to give him flak? And why does it matter? If it's his friends - are they really? If it's strangers, agree with PP - time to teach who actually GAF. He'll never see them again.

way beyond Covid I meant to write

He’d catch flak in the north or the south.

If your kid has a medical problem you need to teach him to do what he needs to do without regard for rude comments from strangers. He should do what he wants without regard to rude comments from strangers in general. Anyone commenting on why someone is wearing a mask is definitely in the Rude, Ignore category. I haven’t masked in ages but if other people want to for whatever reason it is clearly non of my business.

Tennessee or Hampton Roads are the worst for environmental allergies, Florida is no problem for me with some Xyzal and weekly allergy shots.

He needs to see the doctor if he’s suffering so!

I’ve said multiple times that he sees a specialist and is on multiple meds and shots. The state is not Florida.

It's not my concern if my 9th grader ends up hospitalized?

OMG Nitwit, if he’s going to end up hospitalized, CLEARLY he shouldn’t go on the trip.

Not a fan of PP's expression, but I agree with the sentiment. If the consequence of him not wearing a mask (or improperly wearing one) is that dire, then this trip is a no go.

I think PP's expression is perfect. You are a complete NITWIT if you have to crowdsource something like this. JFC.

If he can’t be outside without a mask, finding indoor activities would be better. It’s a little silly do think a mask will help when he’s golfing for hours if his health condition is that severe.

Yes. He will be the only one masked and everyone will think he’s worried about covid. They would think the same here.

My family from Louisiana is shocked when they see people here wearing masks in grocery stores, outside, anywhere really. They get super irritated - I think he will get looks but just cant care.

Your son's medical condition sounds far too fragile to make a golf trip.

No, but you'll probably get flak for assuming that the entire South thinks like a monolithic block.
