Tell me what you think of a pied-à-terre

If its more than 4 hour drive, its a vacation home not a pied de terre.

I fly every week from Boston to my DC pied de terre. It is absolutely not a vacation home. It is a one hour flight. There are several other people in my building who do the same thing.

Don’t do this. I hated this when I was dating. There are few things less appealing than a young man living in a condo daddy bought for him that they are all pretending is an investment or a pied a terre. If you have a girl it’s probably less damaging but it’s still bad.

That is a really weird thing to dislike.

I actually think it is fine to dislike that. But realize that this probably means that a long term relationship with someone in this family is probably not a good fit for you. Wealthy people invest instead of rent. It isn't always the easiest lifestyle despite how glamorous it may seem.

Isn't it a significant expense to book flights, get taxi to and from airport and on top of that, flight booking, cancellation and delay issues. I doubt many 70 year old would be able to do it.
