Dying alone with thousands of followers. He wasn’t alone in life, but he was alone at key times to rest (like weekends and sleep).
But, it’s still interesting to think why he needed to be alone instead of with a new partner over the weekend, sleeping in his bed. Probably the 500k followers is overwhelming. |
Never heard of these people until I read the DM article on his death this morning.
They were social media famous…and not in a good way. He left a big position at Disney to become Instagram famous, following the lead of his wife at the time who became Insta-famous for showing her stretch marks. He became addicted to social media and died glued to his phone…drug-fueled overdose. Had divorced after his wife shared they had a lousy sex life. Seems like a cautionary tale: focus on your real life instead of curating a fake one for social media. |
OK? Great? Thanks, no one has shared insights like that following this death that happened in February. Do you really need the attention of airing your “Deep Thoughts” about someone you had never even heard of online about 10 months after their death? |
Dp- Hey dimwit! This post is likely in response to the WSJ article that came out YESTERDAY. it’s back in the news cycle. Now you are caught up. You’re welcome. |
? It was a summary of the DM article that was the top story this morning. I summarized it so you wouldn’t need to read it…to know who this guy was. You’re welcome. |
Why can’t husbands be happy for their wives’ success? Men are so fragile. |
I actually followed this shit show a while back and I am wondering if Rachel contributed to this take down article. They leave out the part about how his money helped her build her empire and her empire was built on stealing quotes, recycling ideas and a bunch of BS aimed at vulnerable women.
I thought his substance abuse ended the marriage, but regardless, what kind of jerk posts about your bad sex life to the world after you tried to sell your perfect marriage to your vulnerable followers through videos, books and presentations? I admit I was intrigued by her narcissism and people's willingness to follow this idiot. He seemed more down to earth at the beginning of the divorce, but I see it was likely an act and they both had narc traits. Very sad for the kids who seem like genuinely great young people. Sure social media was his downfall, but narcs often will fall due to the trait so if it weren't social media, it would have been something else without the proper help. He did get help though. |
Here's a gift link to the WSJ article - https://www.wsj.com/style/dave-rachel-hollis-disney-1ffac082?st=90p24txtrsi9p3n&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink |
This is old news and was already a thread when he actually died 10 months ago. |
It’s not old News if there is a recent article In the news. That’s how news works. You’re welcome. |
So what? OP could see this thread was MONTHS old before posting nothing new, interesting, insightful or remotely meaningful. |
There’s no “news.” He was dead. He is dead. That’s how life works. You’re welcome. |
It says she didn't. Given that it's the WSJ, I'd assume that's true at least on face. Of course, it doesn't mean she didn't give other people her blessing/encouragement to cooperate. |
Enough with these charlatans. I feel sorry that he died, but good lord, what they were peddling was so cringey and fake. |
I wonder what’s happening with her. I was never a follower but read the wsj article yesterday and I have to think her brand has taken a major hit . |
