Why are you trying to make them sound weird?? Not PP, but it's pretty normal to wear the logo gear (sweatshirt, t-shirt, etc.) when visiting campus to help move in, parents weekend. Our four kids all went away and it is the norm. Also, many parents do follow the sports teams of their child's university whether their DC actually plays or not, assuming they are a sporty family to begin with. |
| DCUM takes everything so seriously. I have a bunch of gear from my kids' college. He attends a school with good D1 sports, we wear tshirts on game days and often when we travel to visit him. It's fun and shows him we support him. If I'm wearing a tshirt, I text him a photo. He picked a good school that was the right fit for him and part of the reason he picked it is because of the sports and the school spirit. Maybe it wouldn't be the same at a smaller school or something, but his school has a great following and happy alumni and we like our gear from there. |
| My dad in his 80s still wears a shirt from my college. |

I have kids at 2 different colleges
College #1: Hoodie T shirt (purchased for a football game where everyone was supposed to wear a specific color) "X university mom" mug hat (with a pom-pom, not a baseball cap style College #2: T shirt "X university mom" mug slides (I was visiting for parents weekend and some idiot didn't clean up after their dog. I had to throw away my shoes, and the "X university" slides were the only shoes sold in the campus bookstore) |

That’s very sweet. My dad did the same. DH has a t-shirt from DC’s school and will probably wear that for many years, too. |
| It’s so funny to me how much people on DCUM love to judge about silly things. I own a couple of sweatshirts and tees from my kid’s school. I’ve also been to sporting events for her school. Honestly, this seems pretty normal, and even low key, to me. I’m from Florida, and repping your school is an art form there. I can’t imagine how hard some of the DCUM posters would judge the displays of school spirit there! |
| free swags like caps, Ts, etc..that the kids get free from various clubs and societies. |
I think the judgy-poking posts are by trolling teens, frankly. Kid beat the odds and got into her dream Ivy, so we were thrilled. We have car magnets and fridge magnet. DD got hubs a tshirt and mug. Wish I looked better in clothes (gah, need to exercise), then I would get a tshirt or jacket too. |
| A pen and a tshirt I sleep in sometimes. |
you must be so fun at parties |
The fact that this has to be explained to people is amusing...PP must be an absolute tool. |
I'm proud of my kid, too. We'll wear logoed gear to her games (D1 at a good school), but not out and about for the same reasons I don't wear an hermes purse or a gucci belt. And I get invited to plenty of parties. |
Amuse us with the reason. |
I have a tshirt and a car decal. |
