Sibley or GW not sure where to deliver?

Sibley has a high c section rate. I would never deliver there.

This is because many women having C sections choose to go there.

Same. Much preferred Sibley.

I had unmedicated deliveries at both Sibley and GW. Sibley was so much better.

I wish I was delivering at Sibley to late to switch Dr now.

This might be true at Sibley now since it’s owned by Hopkins. It’s defintiely true at Georgetown.

Yes lots of rich, type A women want to plan things. Their doctors are happy not to be up all night.

Pregnant RN here. I have worked at both locations. It really depends what you want. If you want a vaginal delivery, I would go to GW. If you are open to a cesarean, Sibley is preferable as long as you are low risk. GW is a trauma center as well with NICU and trauma and IR available 24 hours a day. I wish I still lived in the area as I currently feel like I’m in a healthcare desert.

Please stop. I had a bad vaginal birth for my first delivery at GW with many complications that were poorly handled and my doctor recommended a C section for my second delivery to avoid further damage and trauma. I chose Sibley for those reasons. He delivers at both hospitals and recommended Sibley for my birth. Stop acting like women who have C sections are prima Donnas.
