| How do you want to. pronounce it? I would pronounce it Lay-ah. |
I would pronounce this Lay—Hah |
|
Don't be that kreativ youneek spelling person OP.
. |
| I thought Lee-HA when I first saw it, so that's a no for me. |
I would look it at and say "lay-gah." |
| Awful |
| Why is Leigh pronounced Lee? Wouldn’t it be Lay, like sleigh? |
The “leigh”s I know (all as their middle names) pronounce it Lee fwiw. |
| Leigh = Lee, but when you add the a at the end, you are adding “ha”, and questionable whether the g is silent or not, leading some to say “Leg-ha”. Don’t do this |

I went from an easy to spell last name to a more difficult to spell (but easy to say) last name. It's a pain in the butt. I spell it slowly. They repeat it back slowly, it's wrong, we go back and forth. It's in the system wrong, so I spell it right and they can't find me.
Tons of my students have uniquely spelled names. I pride myself on making every effort to get it right. Their faces light up when I do. "No one ever knows to use that x in my name!" I hear all the time. Don't set them up for people getting it wrong all the time. |
Yes, that's awful. Don't try to be kr8tiv. |
| Love it. |
Sure, but I’m asking why- phonetically I don’t think -eigh is an ee sound, it’s an ay sound. Does it come from another language? |
| I would pronounce it lay-ha |
| Yes, it's unsightly -- Lea or Leah is gorgeous though |
