Looking for affordable apartment complex in Arlington

OP - why are you only looking in Arlington? If you will be working in DC you should consider some Maryland suburbs as well. Lots of affordable apartments in Takoma Park/close-in Silver Spring. Very family friendly, lots of parks, diverse communities, good schools and easy public transportation to DC.

There are many companies who deal in inexpensive and affordable apartment. I got one for my cousin sister and her friends who are living there for completion of their studies. You can search online by adding your area in search.

I am a single parent whose job doesn't pay that much so I am looking for an affordable apartment complex but still in a pretty safe area. I probably couldn't afford more than $1300/month for rent on a 2 bedroom apt. She is half-Hispanic so an area with Hispanic kids would be great. Can anyone recommend their Arlington ES? She is not bilingual but is already reading at a 1st or 2nd grade level. I'd like to find a somewhat diverse school but one where she won't get forgotten b/c she is ahead of her peers academically. Thanks!

Check out the apartments at ~1900 North Culpeper in North Arlington. I live near there and just saw recently that there is a sign out front that there's a rental unit available. There isn't a name to this apartment complex, but it is garden style and I don't think its too expensive. This is a great location - Glebe Elementary is well-regarded and its in the Yorktown pyramid. Great access to transportation, diverse, very safe friendly neighborhood.

I am not going to sugarcoat, OP, your budget is going to be hard to work with. A lot of the PPs clearly have not rented since the mid-90s. You will really need to think about a 1 bedroom or a basement suite in a house if you aren't getting assistance.
