There is no indication from OP there is a study. |
Is this true? I’m Obese and I had problems breastfeeding with both my kids. I don’t understand why people act like it’s so rare. This is all upsetting. |
| PCOS causes undeveloped, non milk producing breast tissue, and obesity. |
I thought the same thing - 5% is actually a HUGE number of potentially underfed babies and frustrated new mothers. That's one in twenty! And probably about fits my experience talking to other new moms when I was breastfeeding. |
It's well documented. That's why I don't think 5% is accurate. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15121990/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22411371/ |
Most people have a lot of functions going on in their brain that can and do create real and challenging obstacles. Lucky you though! Doesn’t appear to be much up there in the first place. |
Is there any other bodily function that you’d claim “it’s just all in your head!” if it wasn’t working? |
+1 |
Same. But baby had a weak sick, later determined to have general low tone. So I think he just wasn’t stimulating me enough. I think my top was 1.25 with concerted effort. |
| Everyone likes to think their decision wasn’t purely selfish. |
Yes it was totally selfish to not let my baby go hungry |
Better than murder. |
But really who gives a crap why a person feeds their baby in whatever way? I promise you when your kid is 5 or even 3, you’re going to be annoyed at yourself for giving it this much mental energy. No one is talking about breastfeeding at the Kindergarten play date. |
No, it’s true though. |
You may not actually be a terrible human being, but right now, you are acting like one. |
