We had the pre drywall inspection today and plumbing leakage was found in several rooms.

The plumbing was getting addressed as I was leaving. The materials are standard but did not have enough glue. So they were fixing that.

The mildew in the attic is pretty common to see at this type of inspection. When houses are getting built the wood sits outside and dries up.
There is always going to be some type of mildew in all houses. Just depends on type and cause. This particular situation it came in with the framing, not a moisture issue and easy to clean up.

What did he say about foundation. And did he answer your question. Would he buy the house?

A good inspector won't answer this question. Their job is not to advise on whether to make a purchase. It's to provide factual information about the state of the property.

In the report he didn't mention what type of crack. I asked if it was a hairline crack and he said yes. I'm going to attach photos.

I meant about whether you should buy the house. Obviously the inspector should answer questions about a crack he found.

No crack in a new build wall is acceptable, and seeing daylight through a crack is outrageous.

I wasn't aware the daylight was seen through the crack. I will clarify that it make sense as it was in the basement. It's hard to catch this because I wasn't there!

Sweetie, your new build shouldn't have this many issues. What is wrong with you that you don't understand this?

I'm PP. The photos don't really change my assessment. These are fixable issues, but they indicate a low-quality build. A lawyer can help you understand your options.

Then it's up to you. Some say stay, others say walk. There is no right answer. Like so much about buying and owning a house, you have to make a judgment call.

OP has been second-guessing and repeating herself throughout the earlier threads. I feel bad for her, she says she's from another country and very stressed out.

It's not me. It's my husband. I am here posting because I do have concerns. He on the other hand is sleeping soundly right now.

Wasn't your husband so concerned that he demanded a pre-drywall walkthrough of his own?

I don’t understand how you can see daylight in the basement. Can you explain

I gave him the idea but yes we asked for that so we can see corrections. I'm so tired of being involved in this. He's not involved and he's making me feel like I am paranoid.

I sent a question to the inspector for clarification.

New build inspections should be close to perfect. I know because I bought one and had my own pre-drywall inspection. These issues are bad. Seriously. Even if you don't think so, they are huge red flags that the builder did not do good work, and who knows what issues will pop up because if subpar work a few months/years from now?

Not only should you run from this house, you need to post the address so that no one else buys this.

You are better off staying in your apartment.

Plumbing problems here too and mice in the building. We haven't seen any in our units but lots of my neighbors have.
