The mildew in the attic is pretty common to see at this type of inspection. When houses are getting built the wood sits outside and dries up.
There is always going to be some type of mildew in all houses. Just depends on type and cause. This particular situation it came in with the framing,not a moisture issue and easy to clean up.
What did he say about foundation. And did he answer your question. Would he buy the house?
A good inspector won't answer this question. Their job is not to advise on whether to make a purchase. It's to provide factual information about the state of the property.
In the report he didn't mention what type of crack. I asked if it was a hairline crack and he said yes. I'm going to attach photos.
I meant about whether you should buy the house. Obviously the inspector should answer questions about a crack he found.
No crack in a new build wall is acceptable, and seeing daylight through a crack is outrageous.
