Obviously you don't spend a lot of time on DCUM (which is a good thing). People here live and die by these rankings. |
It is a regional school. If you want to stay in the greater Richmond to Charlotte corridor, then it is great. But it is not a national school in reputation. Sure, that could change, but "elite" at this juncture is a reach. |
Especially since Richmond is in an affluent suburb, not city center. |
| Honestly, you should be more focused on where you kid will feel comfortable and be successful. These schools are so expensive. If your kid gets good grades at any school, they will be successful. Don't waste your money on a "name." |
I don't disagree that it's a regional school, but the bolded in the original quite is just silly. There were more people in my graduating class (nearly three decades ago) from NJ than Virginia. That's been true, or nearly true, since then. |
why are you still hanging around here lol |
|
Omg people really?? No
It’s a good school it’s not elite it has rich mommies and daddies footing the bill No one on the other side of the country has heard of it |
| Richmond has a ton of financial resources (a $3+ billion endowment) that should allow it to continue to improve too. It is a school I'd be bullish on moving forward and those of you who went there will likely see your degrees look even better! |
Well the biggest reason is it’s ranked 17 and WM is ranked in the 40’s. |
Actually 43 different states and 60ish countries represented. It’s a SLAC. Yes inkybtuch people go Greer. That’s kind of the point of a SLAC to make connections. |
Only 17% came from VA so not really a regional school. |
It’s 28% |
I have heard DCUM described as a wretched hive of scum and villainy, but I thought that referred to the Political forum. I had no idea it migrated to the College forum. |
It was ranked 32nd as recent as 2016. It since shot into the 20s and now the teens. It has a huge endowment. Yea, fast becoming. |
More often it's kids who want to go to a LAC but need merit aid to afford it. |
