I can't find the exact post, but it was about reopening schools back during the pandemic. My argument was just that Virginia should leave schools open and give parents the choice for either in-person or virtual learning, and ban indoor dining instead. Apparently my opinion was troll-ish and got me banned (after having collected a ton of downvotes ofc).

Even leaving aside the private platform thing the only thing here that could possibly have implications for free speech is banning you. Otherwise, you're just complaining about other people's speech; you're free to voice your opinions, they're free to call you a Trumper. That's free speech in action.

Well the thing is that if you continuously post stuff that people don't "like" in a sub, you collect a huge downvote total and mods ban you because of negative sub contribution.
For example, in r/Virginia and r/VirginiaPolitics you will see that all posts blame Youngkin (not a single one in support of him). If you start posting there in support of him you will get banned sooner or later 100%

Well you can aim a little lower and give City Data or Nextdoor a try.

OP seems like she would like Fairfax Underground.

Fairfax Underground is a cesspit

There was a thread about Chad Dukes, some local radio personality and it was 10 pages of gossip and weirdos posting. I'm sure the OP would fit in there.

Oh my gosh, Snowflake. The government did not oppress your speech and you are not a persecuted minority. You got kicked off a private forum because you couldn’t read the room and people didn’t want you hanging around anymore, which is their right. Give the conservative victimhood complex a rest. Please.

I'm a European who is left-wing, but differently left-wing than the American left, and I've occasionally voiced opinions that have prompted hateful responses on DCUM, just because anything that deviates from the accepted ideas of the US left are immediately painted as MAGA - reflexively, without a second of thought.

In the long-term it's complete sabotage of our society and our institutions to have such tribal groups that block all arguments that are not generated and perpetuated by their own echo chamber.

Both the right and left groups do the same thing, in every single country. However I feel that in the US it's much more virulent and emotionally charged than in the European countries I am familiar with, including my own.

So I get what OP is saying. Once in a while it would be nice to have a grown-up discussion about things that matter.

Why do you support a MAGA who's upset he can't spread his racism on Reddit?

People were mean to you? awwwww. Please post a link to the "hateful" responses you received, snowflake.

Oh look, it's another clueless Regressive not understanding that there's a difference between "free speech" and "speech free from consequences."

Do you need a safe space, snowflake?

I've seen that thread, its absolutely disgusting the stuff they've written in there about him. Then again, he was fired for racist comments so I don't feel too sad.

It’s now clear why this site has daily active users hundreds.
