Sorry you’re an ugly old man.

For the Manish fans: Utkharsh Ambutkar was also super cute in Brittany Runs and Marathon. I researched him when I recognized him in NHIE and it turns out that he had some pretty serious addiction issues that derailed his career - like, he turned down or got kicked out of the original Hamilton cast. But seems like his career is back on track, which is awesome.

I thought this season was kind of uneven TBH. Felt much mroe stagey and contrived than the earlier seasons. Maybe just inherently less interesting since all the "big" events already happened in the character arcs. I did find the finale with Devi's decision unexpectedly moving - I cried! Also I think the actress who plays Kamala is pregnant so less story for her.

Wow-you're right. He was the choice for Aaron Burr before Leslie Odom had the role.

Ambudkar originated role of Aaron Burr in those early days of Hamilton, performing opposite Miranda in the “Hamilton Mixtape” at the Lincoln Center, and then again at New York Stage and Film. But as hype about Hamilton mounted, Ambudkar said he found himself becoming “utterly a husk of a person.”

“The most important things to me at the time were the parties,” he says in the film. “At that point my alcohol use was—I couldn’t deal. I couldn’t execute the way that they needed me to, and I had to step away. Then Hamilton drops, and it’s everywhere. It’s ubiquitous. It’s a phenomenon. It’s such an interesting feeling, to love people so much and be so happy for their success—and to feel a part of it, really. Lin, Tommy, Chris, Daveed—I felt taken care of every step of the way by them.”

For Ambudkar, though, missing out on the Hamilton train was the best possible wake-up call to get his life together.

Just binged the series too. Paxton is hot but I quickly pegged him for 30.

Yes he did look older this season. But I liked his arc and actually felt like it was true to a lot of students’ senior year. There are always some popular kids who kind of venture out and befriend some other kids. I liked that Trent and Eleanor dated.

Paxton became super-lovable this season, but it seem like Devi friend zoned him. I don't find Ben attractive at all. Bummer about the Indian boyfriend arc.

With his Ivy obsession, I still can't believe that Ben dropped AP Calc and AP Stats. They portray Devi and Ben as the smartest kids in school but she's taking Geometry in 9th grade not 7th or 8th like the magnet school kids around here. Never have the show writers ever met a TJ type kid!

You mean an Indian tiger mom from DC

My husband and I are enjoying this show (still on season one) even though we don't have any teens or children and the subject matter is not our current life stage. So far it feels very well done.

Is the portrayal of Indian life accurate? Seeing another culture is one of the things we're enjoying.

Paxton is odd looking and so was the love interest from the Mindy Project. Does Mindy Kaling like extremely short men that look like fetuses? I know giant heads are supposed to be good on film, but their proportions are distracting. Nirdesh is dreamy though.

I just finished and appreciate that ultimately this story was a love story to her parents. Mindy Kaling lost her mother early in life and it seems like this is a coming of age story that pays tribute to her mother. Super cute and unique. And Paxton like all the characters worked because they were all quirky in their own way. She couldn’t have cast Jordan Catalans on this show… it wasn’t the vibe.
