Kourtney Kardashian’s daughter broke down in tears when she found out her mom was engaged to Travis Barker. Kardashian FaceTimed Penelope Disick from her engagement party in Montecito, Calif., in October 2021 to reveal the happy news before it leaked on the internet. “P, do you want to know what my surprise was? We got engaged!” she told her daughter in footage that aired during the newest episode of “The Kardashians” on Thursday. Penelope, 9, immediately began to sob before hanging up on her mom. Kardashian then called up son Reign, 7, who took the news much better than Penelope. The Poosh founder also tried ringing son Mason, 12, but he didn’t answer the phone. “Penelope took it hard,” Kardashian said in the episode. “I think it’s a big change for her. And even though she loves Travis, I think she doesn’t know what that means, you know? Is that taking me away?”

Kris Jenner, who planned the bash, claimed there was no way to coordinate getting all the kids to Montecito from Calabasas, Calif., which is about an hour drive away. “I think it’s her decision to break it to her kids the way she wants,” Kris told Kim Kardashian. She later added, “Listen, for us to have to lie to Scott and get them here under false pretenses would have been really hard for all of us. This is the right thing to do … that’s the way I feel about it.” Kourtney, however, said she wished her kids had been there for the party. “I think it would have made them feel more included in the decision and part of the surprise,” she said. “I know that my mom made that decision and it probably wasn’t her best.”


Scott also confirmed in the episode that the kids were “upset.” “They didn’t understand why they were watching TikToks of [Barker’s] kids there and they weren’t there,” he told Khloé Kardashian, before quipping, “Hopefully they’re invited to the wedding.”

Kris is pushing 70 and is the worst mom and grandmother. What kind of mother does this? How dare you get engaged and the world knows and your kids are watching it on TikTok. These people are toxic. Good for Mason for ignoring his mom's call. They tried to make it about Scott, but Scott would not have a problem packing them up in the car and having someone drive them. It's also obvious that engagement and marriage was never discussed with these kids just based on their reaction.

She gains weight in her boobs, butt, and hips. Not her waist. That’s pretty well known. Some claim it’s all plastic surgery but I remember her from the early days of KUWTK, she always had a large behind. She used to do her best to cover it up and Kourtney used to make fun of it. She’s always had a problem with cellulite though. And she’s got enough money to pay for cellulite treatments.

You know her plastic surgery started before the show right? If you want to see her real body, you need to look at her first wedding photos and when she was a stylist. Her enhancements started when she was dating RayJ.

Kris made up a couple of excuses. First, it was that it was too hard to coordinate getting all kids to the location an hour away. Are we really supposed to believe that? Then it was because they would've had to lie to Scott about why the kids all needed to be somewhere at that exact time. Again, BS. They could've planned it for a day when Kourtney had all the kids. Then Kris claimed it was because it was up to Kourtney to break the news to the kids. She can't make up her mind about which excuse to use.

Exactly. All Kris had to do was say on the day before "Hey Scott. Kourtney is getting engaged tomorrow. Can you pack up the kids and get them out to Montecito tomorrow for the engagement dinner?" He would have done it. Why would he want to sit and console his daughter that's crying about not being there and his son who probably was annoyed. Travis is also part of the problem because he should have said something to these kids about proposing at some point. It didn't have to be specific but it was obvious he never got their blessing but went to the grave to "speak" to her dad.

I agree with this and I hate the way they handled this whole thing. But also, to play devil's advocate, it's possible that part of this was editing. Who knows what happened before P got the phone call. Maybe she was already upset about something, maybe she had just gotten in trouble for something. It's possible her reaction to the phone call was the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm sure the Kardashians wanted it to happen this way and maybe planned for it to happen this way. Either way, they are trash for this. Why is she even making a phone call and not telling them in person?
