How to handle this restaurant bill?

I would just send out an email beforehand stating that each family is paying for themselves.

That’s gross all around - including your offer to pay for some guests but not others.

OMG, no.

As a former waitress, the computer system is set up to handle this. If a server knows in advance, it’s not hard. Also you get more tips this way than 1 big bill.
