WL IB vs McLean HS is it really just demographics

DD graduating this year in a Fairfax full IB diploma program. I can’t say I’d recommend anyone do it because it’s so much work! That said the college admissions speak for themselves.


Funny, because the college admissions at the top AP schools in Fairfax are better than those at any of the IB schools in the county. W-L may be different; my understanding is that the W-L admissions usually are better than Yorktown's.

They may not report out separately. Anecdotally, my DD’s classmates were admitted to some great schools. UC system. A couple of Ivies, Chicago, WashU, Northwestern. The UC schools have an IB diploma box you check right on page 1. It’s clearly a factor.
