Cold cuts or lunch meat?

I posted cold cuts earlier and I’m from here (Chevy Chase.) My Jersey DH also says cold cuts.

Lunch meat. Or sandwich meat.

Dad from Boston said cold cuts and it annoys my mom so he uses the phrase as much as possible for maximum annoyance

Lunch meat. Pacific Northwest.

Deli meat. But if I had to chose between the two, I’m more likely to say lunch meat. I’ve never said cold cuts. I think it’s regional.

Yeah, I think it’s a southern jersey/Philly thing.

The NE says cold cuts. DC is arguably not the NE but places north of here will use it. "Lunch meats" sounds Midwestern and/or Southern to me but I am open to correction.

I say lunch meat.
Live in Florida, grew up in California, raised by a mom from New York.

For some reason I think cold cuts is a Northern thing--like pop instead of soda, etc.

OP here. Well. While I was not paying attention, my spouse got on here with this addition, kind of changing the simplicity of my design. All I really wanted was cold cut / lunch meat. But spouse is a cutie, and frankly also HOT🔥, and has added an interesting component to the answers. Thanks, sweetie! Love you❤️

I think I just got a cavity reading that.

Old people say cold cuts.

It's lunch meat or deli meat.

Lunch meat is what DH, from CO uses and so do I. I call it normally ham, salami, turkey, prosciutto, by the name of the item.

No, I don’t think it’s south Jersey or Philly at all. The people I know from there all say lunch meat.

I think it’s more north Jersey/New York maybe.
