Anyone got pregnant naturally or through IUI with poor sperm morphology?

Everyone who is worried about morphology should pay attention to the way that it's measured. My DH had a morphology of 12%, which sounded bad. But the RE said they use a strict new method of measuring "normal" morphology, so anything over 4 percent is fine.

my husband had a 2% "strict" morphology reading. When we got the results back, I was inconsolable. I worked myself up into a frenzy, convinced I was going to have to go the route of IVF. I am now 5 weeks pregnant and did so the old fashioned way, with zero intervention. I've yet to go to the doctor, so I don't have any details on the pregnancy itself at this point, but am being cautiously optimistic.

So happy for you, Anonymous 4/03/2012 poster! I'm hoping to have the same story. Husban has 2% also, we are scheduled to start IVF next cycle, but I want to be able to say, like you, that we managed to do it on our own this month. Congratulations to you - I'm inspired!

my sister's DH has very poor morphology and count and they were told IVF as well....now they have THREE kids all conceived naturally! The first took about 2 years and then the rest just came easily. The second after 6months of TTC and the 3rd in one cycle! Not to giveyou false hope but to give you hope in general!

Our story - strict morphology was at 4%

Two years NOTHING.

Got pregnant on our own, missed miscarriage at 10 weeks. Testing done, probable male issue was the verdict.

They did find a varicocele and told him a repair would have a 40% chance of repairing the issue.

I pushed for IVF- we did IVF/ICSI. He had been taking Centrum Silver and being healthy very slight improvement. We did a three day transfer of two - twins.

DH did the varicocle repair shortly after their birth on his own. We opted to try on our own this year and got prego out of the gate and I am entering my third trimester.

Hi everyone! I'm going through similar issues and wanted done feedback (either good or bad). I have a 4 year old conceived naturally on the second month of trying. After Joni had 3 consecutive miscarriages all in the first trimester. We had karotype done and if came back fine. I had all my tests done and the only thing that came up was low progesterone once. Now my doc has me on clomid 50 mg. I'm about to ovulate but DH sperm analysis came back with 84% abnormal heads! Motility and quantity are more than fine. We stopped trying immediately. Any advise?

DH supposedly has low count but we conceived twice through IUI. In our case, count seemed to vary tremendously, from 5mil to 55mil washed.

I am 33 years old and I have 1% morphology. We were trying to start a family for 6 years but were unsuccessful. We had 2 IUI's and 2 IVF with ICSI's that failed. It was stressful.

Then we changed to a vegetarian diet for 4 months. No meat, no poultry no fish. We even stopped eating eggs or anything that contained eggs.

At the end of 4 months my wife conceived naturally. It was a blessing from God. We just want to share our good experience with you. We do not know if changing to a vegetarian diet has anything to do with morphology.

If possible try what we did for 4 months with a bit of prayer to God. If nothing else it could at least improve your heath. Wishing a hearty good luck to all the couples who are trying to conceive.

My husband had 4% morphology...Tried for 3 years...Had 5 failed IUI's, 2 failed NCIVF then success on 1st round of traditional IVF w/ ICSI. Baby just turned one and found out we are pregnant naturally!
