Sharing hotel room with toddler

Any advice? Our 14 month old DS is a great sleeper, goes down easy and sleeps thru the night no problem (we are lucky!). We are at a hotel this weekend and last night he went down easy, but woke at 3am and maybe got scared since he wasn't at home? Anyways 3am and screaming, DH tried to hold him for an hour, I brought him in bed and we tried that for 2 hours and no luck so I've been up since 3am.

Any advice for tonight? Sometimes at home he wakes and cries for a minute or two and then right back to sleep but I can't let him cry at all in a hotel room! He doesn't ever sleep in bed with us so I didn't know what positions to try and he couldn't get comfy. He's normally a belly sleeper and while that works for cuddling in a chair, I couldn't figure it out in bed. And I'm so tired. Fingers crossed he sleeps better tonight, just put him down. Oh and he's in a pack n play

Maybe a little Tylenol before bed to help him sleep through? It is hard when they are out of their environment and can't sleep in other beds.

My son stopped sleeping in the PnP around that age. I think the fact the the mesh sides were not as rigid as his crib bothered him.

I started booking rooms with two beds, pushing one of them against the wall, and using pillows to create a bumper to keep him contained. If he wakes up, I go lay down next to him until he dozes back off (he is a squirmy sleeper so I can't sleep in the same bed).
