Disney Dream Cruise?

Anonymous
Has anyone done this? What did you think? We're thinking of doing the three day Bamamas one and tacking on three days at the park at the end.

What was the boat like? Food? Did you or your kids get sea sickness?

check cruise critic boards or disboards. We LOVED our Disney cruise (on the Magic). We aren't Disney nuts at all (our family has never done a trip to the parks) but the cruise was one of our best vacations. Everything is taken care of and it's just easy and enjoyable.

I personally would do the parks first and then relax on the cruise. Lots of fun!

We did the dream 5 day- Bahamas and castaway key. DD was 4- she loved it, loved seeing the characters. Bahamas and castaway key were both very nice. Food at sit down dinners was great. I am not a Disney person and I enjoyed it- tended to avoid the upper decks (pool/buffet areas) as they were crammed with people.

We did a 5 night on Wonder (Cozumel and Castaway Cay). Had a blast! The newer ships (Dream and Fantasy?) are twice the size (literally) of the older ones (Magic and wonder)...which means twice the number of people at dinner, shows, Castaway Cay and the tiny pool area on the upper deck. Having said that, some people prefer the newer ships.

If I were you, I'd go for it! Try it and see what you think. We loved our disney cruise and tentatively booked another one already.

Feel free to post back specific questions.

We just did the Dream cruise two weeks ago, we loved it! So much fun, we literally cried as we were leaving the ship. Food was great, staff excellent, shows and productions were fantastic. Three nights were three nights too short, though, next time we'll look at the five or seven nighters. Not surprisingly, the bar tab was pricey (but worth it), and we spent around 200 at the adults-only French restaurant (Remi) there (which was excellent). The kids "daycare" rooms were really great, our kids loved them and allowed us some quiet time to explore the ship, have a romantic dinner on our last night, and enjoy a few nightcaps each evening.

I could go on and on, but it really was a great deal. Would take the cruise any day over the crowds and lines at Disney World.

We've done the 4 day Bahamas/Castaway Cay on the Wonder and the Dream. Loved it both times! We are not really cruise people and but it was perfect for our family.

Amazing time. Beautiful boat, great shows, good food, terrific service. The only bad part is getting off the boat.

Loved it. Boat is huge and can easily accommodate everyone. No motion sickness at all--you can barely feel the boat move.

Which boat is the best?

Dream and fantasy are essentially the same: big and newer.

Magic and wonder are comparable. Older (but refurbished/reimagined) and smaller. Magic was also updated to include the aqua dunk.

We've only been on the wonder, and we loved it. I couldn't imagine being on a larger, more crowded ship...especially at Castaway Cay. Our next cruise will be on the Magic (CC double-dip).

We did the Dream last year for spring break. The ship was full, but because it has a finite capacity, it all works. It was preferable to Disney World at peak times, because in a park they just keep cramming people in. Castaway Cay was very nice.

Would do a Disney cruise with slightly older kids? Thinking about it for next Feb. Kids will be 8, 6, and 4. Is that too old? Is it the kind of thing that is only fun for toddlers?

Those are great ages. They'll love it.
