do 4 or 6 panel doors belong in 100 year old rowhouse?

we are replacing our old doors on our main floor. Upstairs has 4 panel doors but they are old but we dont want to replace them right now as they are functional.
Should i go with 6 panel doors or custom order the 4 panel ones? Which go better with an old 100 year old rowhouse in DC? Thanks! |

| Personally, I would stick with the 4 panel or even go with a 2 panel. I think the 6 panel read too colonial. |

| I would say to stick with the style that is original to the house unless you really don't like it. I once read a description of remodeling too often being a case of "remuddling" instead. I realized that I had made many remuddling errors myself! |
