Updating account preferences

I've tried to update my account settings to "hide online status" and it isn't working. I don't want my user name to be visible on my device after I've logged out. What should I do? Thanks!

That particular setting doesn't seem to work correctly. However, there are two application servers. So, the fact that you are logged in only shows up on one of them. Therefore, you may take some comfort in knowing that only half the users can see that you are logged in.

The only way I know to quickly kill your session is to quite your browser. Sessions should expire in 10 minutes, but there is a background refresh that can sometimes continue even after you leave the site.
