Does anyone know what age they start accepting kids? The sign outside says 18 months, but the website says 24 months.
Anyone know anything else about the school?

My child went there for one year. At the time, the school accepted children as young as 18 months. However, because of some regulatory things with the District of Columbia (I think), the school had to change its policy. Children now have to be 24 months old.

It is a very small school with limited resources. It's not as warm and nurturing as other Montessori schools in the area. However, the director and teachers are quite qualified and capable. It attracts lots of families from IMF and World Bank, so it tends to be culturally diverse.

My child was in the toddler room last year and is in the primary school this year. We love it. The parents are very relaxed and not the typical crazy, competitive uptightness you usu. encounter in the Wash.Metro area. I think a lot has to do with the International crowd which brings a nice, relaxed family environment to the school. The teachers are very experienced and fantastic at what they do, but they don't 'coddle' the parents and while they allow for open observation-- you wont get constant feedback and reports. To me- this is a blessing. I've heard horror stories from some of the other preshcools in NW-- sending bad reports the first week, etc.. Drop-off is at the door and parental lingering after separation week is discouraged. I am laid-back and appreciate that there is no feeling of cut-throatness at this school. That said the education here is top-notch with kids that stay entering kindergarten way beyond the kindergarten level- reading at 2nd/3rd grade level and advanced math. I have a late sleeper and love that they don't hassle me about tardiness-- they prefer we come well rested and with a full belly. Some other preschools lock the door and wont let you in if you are late. IMO this age is a little too early for that kind of nonsense.

my child was not quite 2...some others in the toddler class didn't turn 2 until Oct./Nov. so it isn't strict on the 24 month. I think there are no toddler slots avail for next year at this point.

i almost sent my child there. thought the teachers were very good, very experienced. agree that it doesn't seem as warm as some other schools. also have heard that the classes are a bit big sometimes so that may be an issue.
