new to this forum and a little bit aghast

OK, so DCUM is filled with bitter crazy posts, but there is nothing like this forum! Holy crap!

Just sharing. You can go back to your tales of infidelity and hatred now.

Is "being a little bit aghast" like being "a little bit pregnant?"

You are welcome to return if you find out that your partner is cheating. You can show us all how happy and sweet you are then.

Until then, please enjoy our pain. It helps us so much to hear from you!!

It's possible to be angry and hurt and not handle it like some of those scorned women. But some people just have a higher propensity for crazy I guess.

This forum, with all its cattiness and etc, helped me like noone else did in figuring out the problems in my toxic relationship and supporting me in making a new life.

Be aghast all you want. I hear ya, and all that, but the bottom line is: when it comes to facing the truth, this forum can actually be amazingly helpful and kind.

Also, they give awesome fashion and shopping advice!

Be aghast all you want OP - but if this upsets you, try living with an abusive and/or mentally ill spouse. Or finding out your DH is cheating, or your perfect life is a total fabrication. If you are horrified by this thread, then move along, nothing to see here. But many of us posting having been living through nightmares that no one can understand unless they have BTDT. This forum has helped me tremendously.

Worst case, OP, sometimes the stuff you read here makes you feel better about your own life. I'm single and wish I wasn't, but every day I read things that make me think, "ok, that is DEFINITELY worse than my situation." This is definitely a board where the grass is not always greener.

My advice to you is to get off this forum completely. It's addictive and a waste of time and it makes you feel insecure, wondering if everyone around you is secretly mean and judgmental. Yet I read this site everyday! Quit while you can!

I love DCUM, because I prefer plain unvarnished opinions to a false front of propriety.

Plus I've learned a lot about relationships, and how positive communication is key to a good marriage.

OP - Explicit Relationship Discussion was made for you. Enjoy!

This is "Love...American-Style....2015."

This is the state of relationships now.

It may not always be pretty, but it is real.

If you're looking for fake support, please see other message boards or Facebook. No one on DCUM offers "I'm praying for you" or "Hang in there!" when there's a serious problem. Platitudes are rarely used. Here, you get snarky messages like "you married him/her" or hysterical messages, but you also get the messages from someone who's been there and how they dealt with it.
