| Tonight, Stoddert hosted a gathering of families from the elementary schools that feed to Hardy and it was a great event. 200-300 people were in attendance along with Hardy principal Trish Pride and some of her administrative and teaching staff. Hardy's instructional superintendent as well as Councilmember Mary Cheh were also there. It was a great event and makes me feel really good about our family's decision to go to Hardy next year. |
| Thanks so much for posting. And thanks so much to Stoddert for bringing us together. Yes, it was a memorable evening for our feeder school fourth grader. An opportunity for her to see friends from the neighborhood, and catch up with old friends from other feeder schools. |
| Were there any estimates of feeder kids planning to enter the 6th grade? |
| I've personally grown tired of this question. I'm confident that more IB kids will continue to enroll each year and that in two or three years it will be a majority IB. But if you're looking for a magic number I can't help you. This I know...hardy will thrive with or without IB families. IB should do their wallets and gas tanks a solid and eschew charters and privates and enroll at Hardy. But it's a very personal decision for families and you should do what is best for you. Hardy is best for us. |
Good lord. How is it possible that this is the only question people have about Hardy? Are you all truly incapable of judging a school by any other criteria than "That's where lots of kids I know go"???? |
This is great to hear. |
+1 anyone else have thoughts from the night! Sounds great. |
Fabulous idea. Great to hear that this sort of event is happening. |
| What do they say about keeping the school uniforms or getting rid of them? |
Ha ha ha ha ha ha! |
| Let's have this thread be for families that are sincerely interested in Hardy. If you only want to rehash the old threads, you do that there. |
| My 4th grader attended & had a great time. He was happy because there were kids there that he knew from school but also from other activities. It seems to really be coming together!!!! Very excited. |
| Pp here - thanks Stoddert for leading this in so many ways! I'm not sure of the names of the Stoddert parent leaders, but I for one REALLY appreciate their hard work. |
Go Hardy go
|
Thanks for giving me my laugh for the day. |
