Poster Threatening to carry a gun with intent to shoot in AU Park

Anonymous
Jeff--I want to report the threat of a very illegal and potentially deadly individual posting a threat to walk at night in AU Park with a gun to shoot potential 'robbers'. http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/quote/15/6386369.page

"When I go out for late night walks with the dog I am tempted to take a handgun. I know it's nt completely kosher legally in DC but is it better than some high punk shooting me.

I think that children of color are endangered by these words--he/she she is fomenting violence and fear in our neighborhood. There should be a police investigation of this person VIA their ISP provider for the safety of everyone concerned.

I saw that post and I believe you are over-reacting. The poster said that she is "tempted" to take a handgun. That is not a threat. Moreover, DC now has a concealed carry law. So, what the poster is tempted to do is not even necessarily illegal.

I will also add that the poster in question was over-reacting in my opinion. Two robberies hardly call for turning AU Park into an armed camp.

Yes, there is a concealed carry law. But there is no right to vigilanteism in DC. This person is going out at night with intent to kill. I would hope that someone had been keeping and eye on what gun violence George Zimmerman was saying he was 'tempted to do' on line. Maybe he'd be in jail now for Trayvon Martin's murder.

Dude/Dudette, if you truly believe there's been a threat made, report it to the police, not to a guy who runs an Internet forum.

I didn't see any evidence of vigilantism in that post.
