I'd look up advice on the particular hotel on www.tripadvisor.com. You're bound to get a lot of unvarnished opinions there.

OP here, actually I meant the Grand Mayan group

Again, looking for info to help decide which of various locations to stay at. Family friendly, kids activities, etc.

Thanks!

As far away from the kidnapping, beheading gangs that are terrorizing Mexico right now.

My husband and I stayed at Mayan Palace Acapulco (without kids) and loved it! We left the property to explore Acapulco and ate at wonderful resturants, none of which I'd do with young kids. Also, the flight is too long with little ones. We've gone to Riviera Maya (Cancun) twice with toddlers, and loved it both times - you can get relatively affordable direct filights and enjoy a little slice of paradise! I've heard great things about the Puerto Vallarta properties, but again the fligths are long and expensive relative to Cancun. Enjoy!

I've been to the one in Acapulco too and agree that it's not the best place for little kids, mostly because it's schlep to get there (DC-Houston-Mex City-Acapulco).
