Charter school lottery

Does anyone know when the charter school lottery will take place? Do they do it at there school or is there a location in which parents can attend? I have not heard anything about a notification date.

As far as I know, the lottery isn't done at the schools. I'm not exactly sure where it takes place, but I don't believe that parents are able to attend.

OP, that is specialty lottery timeline. When i called last week i spoke with a person and was told that there is no set date but it will happen before february ends. Really scary especially when other school systems have dates. Actually other school systems have access to results 24 hours after results. I say good luck!

Yes, it is the specialty schools lottery timeline. However, at the very bottom of the page, you will find the charter schools lottery timeline. It says the lottery drawings will be held on February 14th. I'm not sure why it would take place on a Saturday, and on Valentine's Day at that. Notification letters start going out on February 21st, and you have 2 weeks to respond to the placement offer (but no later than March 15th). I hope this helps!

Wow. I am glad for this forum. For the parent that called and and they did not have a date that is to funny especially when the timeline says another date. To the other parent wow i hope they mean next friday because i doubt they are that dedicated to be there on saturday. Well we know between february 13 and february 21 there will be a lottery. If u put your child in the lottery i hope to hear some good results in the next few weeks. Also two weeks to register and commit that is fast but good to know.

15:13 here, with an update. I came across the page below, which states:

The admission lottery will be conducted electronically by the Department of Pupil Accounting and School Boundaries on February 17, 2015. Parents will be notified the week of February 23, 2015.

Thank you so much for posting the news release about the lottery dates. I assume the Feb 14 date on the lottery website is from last year and they forgot to update the info for this year. Wishing everyone luck that they get their first choice...keeping my fingers crossed!

I just called the Department of Pupil Accounting and School Boundaries for an update, since PG schools/offices were closed yesterday (2/17). The lady I spoke with said the charter school lottery drawing took place today, and that we'll receive the results by the end of the month.

Thanks for the helpful info. For those who end up on waiting lists, don't lose hope. We were waitlisted at a specialty school and got offered a spot in June.

I hope this is true for us. We are trying to hold out in signing up for private school. We shall see how it goes. However, my daughter is in second so her odds are slim.

Is results pushed back due to weather closings? Nothing posted online yet

We are supposed to get letters this weekk be on the lookout. There used to be a link in which you can put your child school number in and find results but i have not heard anything.
