Wondering what anyone has heard # siblings applying for this year for Pre-K and K at all the schools

Anonymous
Has anyone heard anything from either DAs or current families about what schools have a lot of younger siblings applying for the Pre-K and K classes. I would be interested to know for ALL the schools. Obviously they don't all get in... but this does play a factor in terms of available spots.

The only thing I've heard from a reliable source is that there are a lot of sibling boys applying to St. Patrick's Pre-K... Anyone heard anything else?

Interesting, I heard this is an easier year than previous years to get into St. Patrick's Pre-K.

Beauvoir's sibiling letters came out this weekend. There have been several posting about sibs and not many replies. This maybe a good sign.

fewer sibs overall at Beauvoir this year.

I wish DC privates were more like the top NYC privates, which generally have weaker-to-no sibling policies.

But once you're in, strong sibling preference is a lifesaver.

As I remember well the stress of waiting, maybe I can help you all a bit. As a current St Pats family, I will say that I think last year was the most difficult year ever to get a child in for N, PK, or K. I don't know if this year is any better but I have not heard that it is any worse. Just knowing the other families I would (only MY personal deduction here) think this year had a few more slots at least in PK. I am not thinking much has loosened up in K though, largely because this year's PK is big. Of course, always figure that 1 or 2 may move away, one or two may go public for K, and a few late birthdays might stay back for another year of PK (not good for those applying for PK but excellent for those appying to K). Anyway, good luck where ever you are applying.
