Beach house for just a long weekend?

My brother and I are interested in taking our families away for a long weekend to the beach this summer. We don't have the time or money to take a full week (other vacations and work schedules interfere). Is it even possible to get a Thursday/Friday-Monday rental? We're not picky about which beach - jsut something driveable. Anyone have a resource or person to direct me to that could help us out?

I think it will be hard if you are looking for a house to rent June-Aug, well in advance.

That said, you might be able to make it work if you go more shoulder season, or you might find something last minute, or you might find some hotel/motel that has suites that you can live with.

When I was searching rentals at Chincoteague last summer alot of the rentals have what they call the "min-week" which is sort of what you describe. Probably not in the high season though
