Cancun?

Looking to travel to Cancun with a 6 year old for spring break. Anyone ever stayed at any of the all-inclusives there?
Thanks

I did a review on Club Med last year. Great vacation (although not at peak time)

Don't stay at the Riu. Yuck!

Try to go a tad further and pick an all-inclusive in Riviera Maya versus Cancun. Cancun is a huge Spring Break destination for undergrads and would not be appealing to me with a 6 year old, especially during that time......

Stayed in the Dreams Tulum. Great kids Club, great service, food was good but not great, wine was acidic. Rooms were good, but some were quite loud. Location was good but a couple of hours from Cancun airport.

Stayed at Moon Palace with DH, baby, and extended family. I didn't get the impression that there were many spring break undergrads. Many families were there with kids and there were a lot of very kid friendly activities.

We did witness some drunken violence and there were some rude, rough Aussies that left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I guess that could be anywhere though.

Most partyers aren't going to pay a premium for a family resort since adults only are cheaper.

How is Moon Palace? I hear the beach itself is pretty lousy...

Check out the Barcelo all-inclusives about 75 minutes south of Cancun. We have had several great family vacations there. We stay at the Palace, wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Colonial/Tropical, etc...We book a car in advance to take us there and back -- think it was about $100 R/T.

Just got back from a 4 night stay at The Royal Cancun (all inclusive). We really enjoyed it, but I might recommend even more the Royal Sands. They are sister properties so you can go between the two and we spent more time at the Sands. Royal Cancun was a 20 minute trip from the airport, the Sands was about 15 minutes further than that. We took the shuttle between the two.

Very family friendly. It would definitely not be a partying spring break hotel. Food was very good and the grounds were beautifully maintained. Kids loved the pools.
