| Where can I get info on scholarships, vouchers, grants to help pay the remaining tuition for what the financial fid does not cover. I need help paying my school fees, please. Thanks. |
| Take a look at Washington Scholarship Fund and if you are black - the black student fund, and if you are latino - the latino student fund. |
| Regarding the Latino Fund, do you have to be 100% Latino to qualify? My DD is half Latino. TIA. |
Most deadlines for scholarships, etc., have passed. Not being a bitch, most of us get 2nd or 3rd jobs to supplement what FA doesn't cover. |
Wow, if I had to do that I wouldn't bother. Seriously, a 3rd job?. I think the OP is smart to look for other avenues for monies. Someone gets awarded that money, so it might as well be her. |
That's too bad you wouldn't make the extra sacrifice for your child. What OP is about to find out is that the alternative avenues have dried up because others have applied for those funds. |
You are so right and I am not willing to make my child sacrifice time with their parents just so I can tell people my kid goes to a private school. |
Actually, Mrs. Get the Free Money, the sacrifice that I was referring to is trekking that extra mile in an effort to obtain a better education for your child. Go back to watching your sitcom. |
Trekking the extra mile to third job at my child's expense? No thanks. I will "work smart" as the cliche goes and find the scholarships instead. |
Good luck as you await the scholarships. Nothing wrong with extra part-time, flexible work to supplement your household income. We're a very hands on family, so I don't know what you mean, "at my child's expense." OP, you will discover in addition to tuition and books there are incidentals throughout the school year that your family will need to provide for. |
| What is the voucher program. I heard of it but how does it work? |
Your response comes off like you look down at PP for getting additional jobs but you'd gladly take the free $$. A parent that is willing to sacrifice and EARN additional income should be commended. You're the one that looks like the entitled freeloader. |
| Stop it, people. You do not know this person's circumstances. Be helpful or don't reply. |
So what are you're circumstances? You are the Op, right? |
