Arne Duncan, Secretary of Education

Arne Duncan, the secretary of education, has two young children. Does anybody know which school he has chosen to send them to?
Anonymous
No, but he said on NPR that they were going to public school.

Attorney General "A Nation of Cowards" Holder's seem to be in private in DC.

How about Rham Emanuel? Where are his kids in school?

Do we know for certain that he lives in DC? It would make sense given his background in Chicago, but I have no idea if he does or not.

PP here, and I'm referring to Duncan, not Emanuel. No idea about him; are sure his family moved with him?

Perhaps they are now, but I believe they were at the Chicago Lab school.

Duncan told Congress his kids are going to public school (they live in NOVA). Emanuel's children still live in Chicago. Eric Holder's children went to DC public throughout elementary and now go to a private school. (I am purposely being slightly vague -- people do deserve some privacy, in my opinion.)

I thought there was an article in the Atlantic that said Holder's kids were at GDS?

Eric Holder is on the Board of Trustees for GDS

Oh, well, 9:09--you tried.

How is it possible that his children went to public through elementary if an article from 2001 lists his children, all under the age of 7, as going to GDS? Is there some pre-natal program? The point is, while Holder is lecturing the rest of us about 'mingling' (a great message), he certainly was not following through in his personal life. But sadly, that seems to be the M.O. of public officials.

Isn't the Chicago Lab School about as elite as it gets ( as in, under the auspices of the University of Chicago?). I get that Obama might have security concerns for his daughters now as POTUS; but as a junior senator from Chicago? What was the issue with public there?

The Lab School is probably one of the best in the country; why shouldn't they have sent their children there? Are you arguing that all or all top public officials/policymakers have an obligation to send their children to public school?

Nope. Only Democrats.
