Do you currently have a psych? did you try running a home visit by them?

Is there a mobile crisis unit in your county?

From MoCo website:

"Mobile Crisis Team
The Mobile Crisis Team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is staffed by two Crisis Center staff: a Licensed Mental Health Professional and Behavioral Health Technician. The team responds in the community to psychiatric emergencies and is accompanied by the police. The team will provide a crisis evaluation, facilitate hospitalization when needed, stabilize the crisis, and make recommendations regarding treatment and resources. To request the team, call the Crisis Center at 240.777.4000."

OP I hope things are calmer and that you and your child are OK. If you called the Mobil crisis unit recommended above I'd be curious to know how they were and whether they handled things well. Since its a county agency you never know but sounds less risky than calling 911 and having cops without proper training for a mental health emergency swoop in. Ive been close to needing that kind of resource myself for a family member. Best wishes.

If you are looking for an option beyond crisis intervention, Capital Region Children's Center does family and individual therapy in the home. Go to http://www.dccrcc.com.

+1. I'm also worried that I might have to use the crisis mobile team in the future and would be grateful for some feedback.

OP was wise not to just all 911. So many stories in the news about cops winding up tasering or shooting to death people who were out of control (or not even) but not necessarily violent (or. If they were still not justifying being shot--professionals trained in deescalation could have prevented these tragic outcomes). It happened to my husband's colleague's adult son with bipolar Shot and killed.

Previous post. Call 911. Not all 911.
