I am a crazy picky eater, but I love hot spices and I have come to love chicken vindaloo, but buying it at a restaurant is typically not ideal because I spend lots of time picking out chinks of seeds and vegetables that I dontbeat out of a restaurant's dish. I'm just interested in making the sauce (straining out any veggies used to make it in the end) and putting in plain chicken on plain basmati rice.
I've seen some jars of vindaloo paste but all of them contain peanuts, and I am peanut allergic. Can anyone recommend a vindaloo or got curry recipe that does not contain peanuts? (thanks. I know I'm weird.) |
Not sure if Patak's Vindaloo paste has peanuts in it? They are the best. |
I've posted on of her recipes already this morning, but Mahur Jaffrey is my go-to source for most Indian cooking... Here's duck vindaloo that I'm sure you can substitute chicken for.

I second Madhur Jaffrey.
I am not a fan of Patak's. They taste overwhelmingly of vinegar. |
