Recommend your 401k management co. Is Fidelity the best?

Anonymous
Left my job a few years ago and have about 50K in my 401(k) there that I want to transfer somewhere else. Most people I've talked to recommend Fidelity but a few mentioned T Rowe Price or Charles Schawb. Looking for recommendations from the financial gurus on this forum. TIA!

Vanguard generally has the lowest fees.

I have both my current and rollover 401K at Fidelity and it's fine. The fees depend on what funds you select. Their target funds (like the Freedom Funds) have high expenses, the index funds don't. I also have an IRA account at Vanguard and it's also fine. It depends what you are looking for- active trading, ease of online use, low fees, etc.

Vanguard!

They are the leader in the No Load Mutual Fund industry.

Vanguard. You own them so they have a lower fee structure and less incentive to lure you into improbable strategies over the longer term.

I have money at both fidelity and vanguard. Fidelity Spartan index funds are very similar in fee structure, including a version similar to the admiral level with even lower fees. Some fees are slightly higher than vanguard, some slightly lower, so it averages out. Fidelity has a much nicer and more intuitive interface, tools, and more account options. Vanguard has better eft options.

I have had money at Schwab, Vanguard, and T Rowe Price. Vanguard funds are the cheapest and they are the easiest to use if you are comfortable doing stuff online. In terms of talking to a customer service rep I'd say Schwab and T Rowe are a little better than Vanguard.
