We live in a modern house and need ceiling fans with lights for the kids bedrooms. I'm having trouble finding a non-ugly, smaller fan(<44"![]() |

some models can fit blades as small as 36" |

modern ceiling fan 40 It came up with lots of cool moden fans. Just a matter of how much you want to spend. |
Try Minka for modern fans. Annapolis Lighting might have them. |
Just wondering ... why do you need a fan? I find it's usually really hot or really cold in DC, so it's air conditioning or not. We probably used a fan a couple of days in the whole year. |
Love the Casablanca isotope. It's low-profile so it hugs the ceiling. The nickel with espresso blades looks sharp and the white also looks good against the ceiling. I've found a lot of white fans look cheap. We love having them in the kids' rooms, even with AC. |
I'll second the PP. I have and love the Casablanca Isotope. |
Not OP. We have the fan on all the time. It keeps the air circulating and actually keeps it warmer in winter (if you have the direction correct). Our bedroom is in the shade part of the house so we don't use AC as often in the summer but the fan is on and moves the air so it doesn't get stale. |
+1. We have three in our mid-century house. Love them. |
OP here. We live in the Pacific NW and have a new home. Summers are so pleasant here there's no air conditioning. A little breeze would be nice plus we have small kids (safety hazard at night leaving windows open/kids unattended). |
Curious why you post on DCUrbanMoms from PNW (no snark, just curious). |
Recent transplant from DC (last 6 months). Haven't gotten over my DCUM addiction yet. |
I don't know about sizes, but whenever I'm out and see a fantastic modern fan, I note that it's made by Big Ass Fans. |
