HI CAN someone help me.....I had a chemcial pregnancy in Jan....I was only about 3-4 weeks preg..the day before i began to bleed my HGC was at 19....then i bled for about 2 days kind of heavy and clots then it was like a dark brown like black...weird..more like discharge...all gone within 6 days...The day i bled was Jan 25th so I would technically be due for my period Feb 25th (i usually get it like that everymonth)...well its March 1st and I still dont have a period? or any signs like its even coming, none of the usual tender breasts or anything? is this normal? and when should I expect my period?
TIA to all -nicole |

I had my period right on time the next month after my chemical pregnancy/miscarriage. I conceived the next month after that.
Good luck with everything! |
Same here. I wish you the best, OP. |
| I conceived the month after my chemical pregnancy. I ovulated right on schedule and had a positive home pregnancy test at 10 days post ovulation. I'm 30 weeks pg now. I'm sorry for your loss and hope things work out soon. |
| thanks for the replies and congrats to those that concieved..but my question is not really being answered...im not asking about concieving...i just want to know if its normal for the period to be late following the chem preg.??? I know i am not preg..my husband is deployed in the Marines since the first week of january. |
| I think it can take a while for your body to get back to normal after an early miscarriage or chemical pregnancy. Do you temp? Or do opk's? That would really tell you if you ovulated, so then you'd have a better idea of when to expect your period. Your ovulation may just have been delayed, or you had an anovulatory cycle. If af doesn't come in another week or so, I'd ask your gyn for provera to bring it on. |

Yes, it's very normal. The residual hcg probably delayed ovulation and so now your next period is delayed. You will always bleed 2 weeks or so after ovulation so if you period is late (and you're not pregnant) you either ovulated late or didn't ovulate at all (both very normal after a chemical preg/miscarriage because the hcg etc. can temporarily override your body's normal hormone feedback loops).
I would expect your period sometime within the next several weeks. If you're a full 30-40 days late it might be worth it to see your ob/gyn to have a hcg drawn and to get some provera (essentially a few days of progesterone pills) which will bring on a withdrawal bleed. This should will kick you back into a normal cycle if you haven't already ovulated and then bled on your own. |
| The large blood loss and clotting may have something to do with it. After my CP, I had an extremely heavy period that lasted for five days (mine are normally 3). The next month, it was a few days late and MUCH lighter. Maybe it's just that your uterus did a thorough cleansing and it's waiting until it builds back up enough again? I wouldn't worry about it until it's weeks late. |
My period was a little off after two chemical pregnancies. I'm sorry for your loss. |
