Is anyone following this situation?

This looks like a really serious problem for the area where the proposed construction will take place and for taxpayers who will be footing the bill for the monstrocity.

It's capital funds -- general obligations bonds. Not really a direct hit on taxpayers, although debt service for those bonds gets paid by tax payer money.
