Hearst closing?

Getting ready to put our slips into the lottery. Does anyone know the long-term prognostication for the school? I vaguely remember hearing that the school was on the top of the list of Ward 3 elementary schools to close if it ever came to that. Am I just off? Or not? Thanks.

No, in fact, on another DCUM thread an attendee at Hearst mentioned that it would now be expanded to higher elementary grades under Rhee (Hearst kids used to have a choice between Janney and Eaton for the upper elementary grades). Search for the thread. Not personally involved so can't vouch for info. Might look on DCPS webpages under boundary changes or new master school plan.
