Looking for any feedback on Belmont Elementary

DD will be enrolling in K this fall. I have seen some older posts but just wondering if there are parents with more recent information. Right now DD is coming from a preschool with 16 kids in her pre-k class and I'm wondering what the average class size is for Belmont's K class. I am also considering private because of the smaller class size but I am a product of public schools so I'm torn. Thanks!

The average class size for kindergarten last year was 19 (57 kindergarteners, 3 kindergarten teachers).

Nice small school community. The 3rd kindergarten class was added to accommodate the growing class size. We had a positive experience with my son's k teacher.

I have a first grader there and an incoming kindergartener this fall, too. I'm an MCPS teacher and think it's a great school. It is one of the smallest in the county, which is nice. Responsive teachers, class sizes have been about 20 for us last year and this year.... You should definitely give it a try before just jumping ship to private!

About a year ago, I heard the school was going to undergo renovations. We are looking at houses zoned for Belmont? Has the construction started and if so, when will it end?

Belmont is a lovely school. It is one of the smallest in the county and has a great community feel.

I believe construction was delayed due to other schools in the county with higher priorities. The latest I heard was construction will begin in 2021.

Thanks, this is helpful. We are attracted to Belmont primarily because it's a small school. Good to hear it has a great community feel.
